This is a must have for all DVD-rippers out there. Compare it with DivX - only this one is not encoding in Mpeg4. RealMedia is doing the same job even better, keeping original frame size intact. The two pass vbr encoder will re-encode your DVD(vob) rips, Mpeg1 and Apple movies to smooth running small RealMedia files that can be stored on standard CD-R´s or DVD-R´s. Quality/Size ratio is much better then DivX. Even your DV-camera footage or TV-broadcast recordings look great with this encoder. Imagin you have a TV(avi) recording in 576 x 432 frame size and two hours in length. Use motion-jpeg encoders for this task. Re-encoded with 800 Kbps the end-result is stunning and it will fit on a single 700 Mbyte CD-R. Try that with DivX and you will be dissapointed. Encoding time is also faster compared to DivX.
